Nike Adapt
34,580 SF
Byhalia, Mississippi

The first in a series of new Regional Service Centers within Nike’s logistics network, Adapt sought to bring the culture, amenities, and quality of finishes, which are common throughout their World Headquarters Campus, to their distribution spaces. Historically completed with a deep focus on economy, many shipping/receiving centers throughout the country go little beyond meeting the basic required functions of the space. Nike sought to upend this, not only for their employees, but to raise the bar for the entire industry.

First and foremost, the design connects visitors and employees to sport every day with a half- basketball court and employee lockers on the right side of the main lobby. In addition, a fitness center on the left side offers new amenities to employees, but even more, connects them to Nike’s purpose. A career center offers training to team members who want to further develop their education and skill, and the administration offices are open to all employees to break down historic hierarchical barriers common throughout the industry. A new café is open at one end to divisible training rooms, and at the other end, to an exterior patio, which offers outside space for employees to eat, relax, and connect with one another.
