Located within the existing Adapt Distribution Facility, the Innovation Center was designed to be a sandbox for the testing and integration of new automated technology into existing distribution processes.

To this end, a miniature distribution floor was created inside the innovation center, complete with bulk and rack storage, a conveyor system, and packing stations. Open collaboration spaces are scattered throughout, and enclosed meeting rooms flank the miniature distribution floor. A gallery allows engineers to showcase up-and-coming technology and a dining/lounge space on the mezzanine offers a comfortable place to relax for visitors, vendors, and employees.

In addition to nurturing and demonstrating Nike’s passion for innovation, the design of this space reinforces the primary objective of the overall Adapt facility: connection to sport. A double-height glass wall provides views to the basketball court from the mezzanine, collaboration spaces, and the gallery.
