The Nike WHQ Universal Campus Entry project initially began as a site planning exercise to improve universal access to the World Headquarter campus in Beaverton, Oregon. Serving as the front door to Nike’s global HQ, this space not only welcomes employees, visitors, and world class athletes, but has grown into something of a pilgrimage for sports and lifestyle enthusiasts alike. Although it had become iconic, the space and the journey it offered lacked inclusivity, inspiration, and meaningful storytelling – in short, there was an abundance of opportunity to craft an experience that is emblematic of Nike’s incredible character.
In the end three ideas were developed and presented to Nike’s internal design team, each drawing conceptual inspiration from different parts of their story.
