HRW Companies Headquarters
12,000 SF
Hannibal, Missouri

Designed to be a home base for the administrative functions supporting their scattered assisted living homes, HRW Companies sought a new headquarters space in a historic, early twentieth century building in Hannibal, Missouri.

Originally designed as a covered marketplace, the existing building consisted of smaller suites radiating from a central, double height atrium. Later subdivided and repurposed into offices, the daylit atrium had been infilled and the floorplate subdivided to maximize workspaces.

The concept design for the new headquarters restores and repurposes the original layout by letting the existing skylights and restored atrium organize both the functions and the spaces; a central break area within this double-height volume welcomes everyone and connects the HRW offices to the remainder of the building. Ground floor suites are mixed with rentable meeting spaces to support local small businesses, sole proprietors, and the community at large.
