At Fox, we design with purpose—putting people, community, and the planet at the heart of everything we do. Every space we create is a reflection of our commitment to improving the daily lives of those who live and work in our buildings.
We believe design should be universally accessible, environmentally responsible, and deeply rooted in the needs of the communities we serve. As a USGBC and AIA member firm—and a proud signatory of the AIA 2030 Commitment—we are dedicated to shaping a more sustainable, inclusive future through thoughtful design.
Buildings account for 76% of total electricity consumed, and about 40% of all US primary energy use and associated greenhouse gas emissions. Lower impact strategies can be introduced to significantly reduce that number and high impact design can even make your building net positive.
Beyond accommodating different bodies and abilities, universal design seeks to provide equitable experiences for everyone. This equity is only possible when all perspectives – physical, psychological, neurological, age, sensory, gender, and identity – are carefully considered and designed for.
Applying an approach that puts communities at the center of the design process, we have developed a deep appreciation for the contexts in which we exist. To this end, whether through our professional work, our volunteer efforts, or our personal lives, we support those individuals, organizations, and communities that enable, inspire, and engage one another; below are a few of those organizations we support.
Overlapping with Universal Design – creating environments that accommodate peoples’ unique needs and preferences – Health and Wellbeing extends beyond to create spaces that promote healthy and active lifestyles while also nourishing the psychological and biological needs for daylight and exterior connections.
That same ethic drives our culture. Our team is engaged in the community and supported in their own health, growth, and well-being. Through leadership in organizations like the St. Louis International Institute, Gateway Arch Park Foundation, Building Futures, and AIA St. Louis, we extend our impact beyond buildings—fostering stronger connections between people and places.
At the core of our work is a simple, powerful goal: to enhance every individual human connection.
